A new halves pairing for the Eels with Dylan Brown suspended and Mitchell Moses suffering a calf injury. Dean Hawkins wears the No.7, while Joash Papalii slots in at five-eighth. Hawkins in particular has been impressive, recording a four try assists in his last outing against the Sea Eagles. Papalii meanwhile, has shown glimpses of talent in his three appearances off the bench, but gets his first start in the halves in Round 16. Meanwhile, Zac Lomax has been named and only an injury will stop him from suiting up for the Eels while Wiremu Greig makes his first NRL appearance since Round 24 of the 2024 season.
Des Hasler has named Origin duo Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Moeaki Fotuaika on the bench for their Round 16 clash, hoping his stars will be able to back up.
