The Broncos have been cruelly denied an epic last ditch win over the Eels, after a Reece Walsh try in the 80th minute was overturned, saving a Parramatta young gun from humiliation.
The Broncos’ five-game winning streak ended when the Eels gripped on for a 22-20 victory in a massive upset in a drama-filled contest.

Trailing by two and the game in the final minute, Broncos centre Gehamet Shibasaki put the ball on the boot back inside to Walsh.
The ball arrived to Eels fullback Joash Papalii first, but the youngster spilled it, with Walsh picking up the loose ball and crossing for a try which gave Brisbane the lead.
However, replays showed Walsh was in front of Shibasaki when the centre put the kick in.
“Reece Walsh is required to have both feet behind the ball and at the point of the kick he is front,” the Bunker official said.
“Walsh is in front of Shibasaki … The Bunker has decided the game,” Dan Ginnane said in commentary.
The Broncos fullback blew up after the Bunker handed down their decision and was visibly upset. The Eels would then hold onto the ball for 40 seconds to wind down the clock.
“Reece Walsh can light up the rugby league field like no one else. He has been rocks and diamonds this half and for a moment there, that was the diamond,” Fox League’s Cooper Cronk said.
Even though the off-side call saved his bacon, Papalii was visibly upset after the full time buzzer sounded.
“Joash Papalii, good for him. He thought he cost his team the game. He’s being hugged by teammates,” Ginnane said.
Greg Alexander said he “felt sick” for Papalii when the play unfolded.
“Playing his first game at fullback for the club, he was fantastic but I thought he had lost that game for the Eels,” Alexander said.
